Please read the following frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding the cost of treatment and insurance coverage.
How much do braces cost?
Every patient is unique! It is important that every patient receives a consultation with Dr. Chen before we know how much treatment will cost. The treatment fee is based on the overall length of treatment and treatment method and supplies used.
Our mission is to create payment plans that allow every family to be able to afford orthodontic treatment. Our office offers low total cost of treatment as well as flexible in-house, zero-interest financing spread out over the course of treatment time.
Do you accept all insurances?
We accept all PPO insurances and Medi-Cal and will figure out how to maximize your benefits. Before we bill the patient and begin treatment, we will explain the total fee, insurance coverage, and exact out-of-pocket expense. Every insurance treats orthodontic billing differently so we will show every patient how his or her insurance plan works. For patients with managed care or DHMO plans, we must check to see if our office is in-network. If we are confirmed out-of-network, a discount will be given so that total fee is similar to the plan's expected fee.
How much does Invisalign cost?
There are different fee levels set by Align Technology (the parent company of Invisalign). The different levels of treatment depend on the length and complexity of treatment. The cost to our office for setting up Invisalign treatment is higher than the cost of braces used in conventional orthodontics treatment, so we need to pass down the additional cost to the patient.
Does Denti-Cal or Medi-Cal Dental cover braces?
Denti-Cal or Medi-Cal Dental covers specific, severe orthodontics cases that fit several criteria. Our doctor needs to examine each patient and measure the existing dental condition to asses whether the insurance will cover treatment. If the criteria fit Medi-Cal's guidelines then our office will submit molds of the patient's teeth so the Medi-Cal program can decide if the patient's condition qualifies for coverage.
